Day
1. Prague
Arrival in Prague. Check in at hotel and dinner.
Day 2. Prague
Guided tour of Prague, the Czech capital, including Mala
Strana, the famous Charles Bridge, Jewish quarter Josefov,
the old town square and Wenceslas Square. Lunch in the Old
Town. Dinner at hotel.
Day 3. Prague
Guided tour of the Loreta Church. Discovering the
castle complex of Hradcany with Prague Castle, St Vitus'
Cathedral and Golden Lane. Lunch. Continuation.
The rest of the day at leisure. Dinner at hotel.
Day 4. Prague - Kraków (540 km)
Morning departure for Kraków. Lunch en route. Arrival in
Kraków in the evening. Dinner at hotel.
Day 5. Kraków
Sightseeing tour of the Old Town including the St
Mary's church with its majestic gothic, wooden altar carved
by Veit Stoss and the medieval cloth halls at the very centre
of the city. Then a visit to the Wawel Hill with Castle
and Royal Cathedral. Lunch. Guided tour of Collegium
Maius, the oldest building of the Jagiellonnian University,
housing among others original astronomical devices used by
Nicolaus Copernicus. Free time for shopping. Dinner.
Day 6. Kraków - Wieliczka - Levoca (180 km)
Drive to the nearby salt mine in Wieliczka with the
underground world of chambers, corridors, chapels and statues
carved in salt by generations of miners - unique tourist attraction
in the world, placed on the Unesco Heritage list. Lunch en
route. Crossing the border with Slovakia. Arrival in Levoca.
Check in at hotel. Stroll through the medieval market square
and visit the gothic St James Cathedral with the tallest
alter in the world (18m). Dinner at hotel.
Day 7. Levoca - Budapest (260 km)
Visit the Spisska Kapitula, a medieval settlement
with the St Martin Cathedral, one of the oldest gothic
buildings in Slovakia. Next guided tour of the enormous Spisski
Hrad, the greatest castle in Central Europe. Continue
to Budapest. Arrival in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 8. Budapest
Sightseeing tour of modern Pest with the Heroes Square
and Parliment. Lunch. Visit the historic quarter Buda:
Gellert Hill with the most beautiful panoramic view on the
city, castle and Matyas Church - symbol of Budapest.
Dinner with folkolre performance at local restaurant.
Day 9. Budapest
Excursion to pretty village of Szentendre. Stroll
through the village. Visit the small museum of marzipan.
Continue to Visegrad with the majestic castle and splendid
panorama on the Danube bend. Back to Budapest. The rest
of the day at leisure.
