This is why we place great importance on organizing visits to this memorial site. It is up to you to decide which format best suits your needs:

– Regular visit of 3.5 hours.
– In-depth visit of 6 hours.
– In-depth visit of 8 hours (which can be split over 2 days).

Below you will find our proposal for a 4-night program:

 

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Krakow airport.
Meet with our guide and transfer by coach to the hotel.

 

Day 2: Krakow
Visit of the historic center, including the Royal Route with its monuments. Visit to St. Mary’s Church with the majestic wooden altar carved by Veit Stoss, and the medieval cloth halls at the heart of the main square. The tour ends on Wawel Hill with a guided visit to the Royal Cathedral and the Royal Castle (from the outside). After lunch, visit to the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz, with entry to the Remuh Synagogue and its small historic cemetery. Afterward, visit the former Jewish ghetto of Podgorze and entry to the Oskar Schindler Museum.

 

Day 3: Krakow – Auschwitz – Krakow (150 km)
In the morning, departure for Oswiecim to visit the former Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp. We suggest a 6-hour study tour. Lunch break during the visit.

Return to Krakow around 5:00 PM.

 

Day 4: Krakow – Wieliczka (25 km)
Excursion to the famous Wieliczka salt mine. Lunch and free afternoon.

 

Day 5: Departure
Transfer to the airport and departure.

Day 1. Kraków

 

Arrival in Kraków. Check in. Stroll in the Old Town and welcome dinner.

 

Day 2. Kraków

 

Sightseeing tour of the Old Town including The Royal Way with its monuments. Visit the St Mary’s church with the majestic, wooden altar carved by Veit Stoss, and the medieval cloth halls at the heart of the main square. Then a guided tour of the Wawel Hill with a guided visit to the Royal Cathedral housing tombs of the Polish kings. Lunch. Drive to the nearby salt mine in Wieliczka with the underground world of chambers, corridors, chapels and statues carved in salt by the generations of miners – quite unique tourist attraction in the world. Dinner

 

Day 3. Kraków – Łańcut – Przemyśl – Krasiczyn (260 km)

 

Morning drive to Łańcut. Visit the famous Łańcut castle belonging to the world largest castle – palace complexes. The castle was built in XVIIth century in early Baroque style, conceived as the palazzo in fortezza. Guided tour through the palace rooms with art collections and the Carriage Museum including more then 50 horse-drawn carriages. Lunch at the palace restaurant. Arrival in border town Przemyśl, famous for its rich multicultural heritage. City tour. Drive to nearby Krasiczyn for dinner and overnight in the splendid Renaissance castle hotel. Night tour by torch-light through the castle’s interiors, caves and crypts.

 

Day 4. Krasiczyn – Lvov (100 km)

 

Morning drive to Lvov. Crossing the border with Ukraine. Arrival in Lvov at noon. Check in at hotel and lunch in the old town. Sightseeing tour. Lvov is considered as the western capital of Ukraine and boasts exceptionally rich architectural heritage, strongly influenced by the styles of Byzantine, Gothic, Italian Renaissance, Polish baroque, rococo – with numerous religious buildings from various periods. Dinner. In the evening we recommend a visit to the famous Lvov Opera House.

 

Day 5. Lvov – Pochaiv – Kamieniec Podolski (360 km)

 

Departure for Kamieniec Podolski. En route visit to Pochaiv Monastery, also known as Pochaiv Lavra. The monastery was founded by the monks from the Pecherska Lavra in Kiev, who had fled the Tatar invasion. The visitors of the church are impressed by the majesty and beauty of its decoration with plenty of colors and golden iconostasis. Lunch en route. Arrival in Kamieniec Podolski in the late afternoon. Check in. Stroll in the old town and dinner.

 

Day 6. Kamenets Podilski

 

Visit the fabulous Kamenets fortress belonging to one of the most powerful and amazing fortresses in Europe (by some called the eighth wonder of the world). The castle was a strategic point on the southern boarder of Poland. It was built around the XIIIth century to protect Poland and consequently Western Europe from the attacks of Turks and Tartars. Lunch. Excursion to Khotyn and visit the powerful Turkish fortress situated on the Dniestr river. The fortress and the area near it was a scene of many great battles between Turks and Slavs. Dinner.

 

Day 7. Kamenets Podilski – Kolomyia – Yaremche (200 km)

 

Morning departure for Yaremche. Stop in Kolomyja and visit a charming Museum of Traditional Carpathian Crafts with wood-carvings, wool blankets and leather goods made by hutsul folk. Lunch. Arrival in Yaremche – the most popular spa resort in the Carpathian Mountains. Check in at resort hotel. Dinner

 

Day 8. Yaremche (day of relax)

 

Excursion to Dovbush Rocks or Yaremche Waterfalls. The rest of the day at your leisure: enjoy fresh air and view of the mountains and forests untouched by civilization. In the evening a traditional hutsul dinner at a regional restaurant with life hutsul entertainement (music & song).

 

Day 9. Yarmenche – Uzghorod – Medzilaborce (360 km)

 

Morning departure for Uzgorod through the picturesque landscape of the Carpathians along the Southern border with Romania. Arrival in Uzgorod in the afternoon. Lunch and stroll in the old town. Crossing the border with Slovakia. Arrival in Medilaborce in the evening. Check in and dinner.

 

Day 10. Medzilaborce – Kraków (200 km)

 

After breakfast, visit the museum of the world-wide famous pop artist Andy Warhol. Andy’s parents were born in the nearby village Mikowa. Andy himself never visited this place. When asked about his place of origin, he used to answer: “I come from nowhere”. A brother of Andy Warhol gathered the works of the artist and arranged in 1991 the museum that each year is visited by tourists from over the world. Lunch en route to Krakow. Arrival in Krakow in the late for dinner and overnight.

Drive to the nearby salt mine in Wieliczka with the underground world of chambers, corridors, chapels and statues carved in salt by generations of miners – unique tourist attraction in the world placed on the Unesco Heritage list. Lunch en route. Arrival in Krynica, the most famous mountains SPA resort in Southern Poland with mineral water springs. Accommodation at the SPA house with possibility of undergoing some wellness treatments. Walk through the town market square and trying out mineral waters. Dinner.

 

Day 4. Krynica – Bardejov (40 km)

 

Depature for Bardejov. Crossing the border with Slovakia. Arrival in Bardejov and check in at hotel. Lunch. Sightseeing tour of the town. Bardajev is regarded as the most beautiful and picturesque medieval town of Slovakia. The historic centre is surrounded by the original fortification system with walls, gates and bastions. The town square is dominated by a City Hall and the St.Egidius Church with the famous gothic altars. All the buildings surrounding the market square have preserved their original medieval, charming beauty. Visit the town museum. Bardejov is since 2002 on the list of UNESCO Heritage List. Dinner at hotel and overnight.

 

Day 5. Bardejov – Levoca (120 km)

 

A morning departure for Levoca, a capital of the Spis region. En route, visit the Spisska Kapitula, a medieval settlement, surrounded by the massive walls, once inhabited only by priests and their servants. Visit the St Martin Cathedral, one of the oldest gothic buildings in Slovakia. Then a short walk rewarded with the beautiful panorama of the enormous, fabulous ruins of Spisski Hrad castle. Guided visit of the castle. Arrival in Levoca. Check in at hotel and lunch. Guided tour of the medieval town square. Visit the gothic St James Cathedral with the tallest alter in the world (18m). Next visit the village grammar school and then lunch with regional cuisine specialities. Further drive to a town Sanok to visit an Icon Museum housing the largest collection of icons after the Tretiakow Gallery in Moscow. Then, visit the Skansen, an open-air museum displaying the different styles of wooden architecture of the region. Arrival in Lesko in Bieszczady Mountains for dinner and overnight.

Next drive to nearby town Niepolomice and lunch in the Renaissance castle, a former summer residence of Polish kings. Then visit the Chamber of Niepołomice Region and watch baking of bread and cakes in an old, traditional oven. Coffee break and tasting the cakes. Continue to Niepołomice forest for the relaxing horse-drawn carriage ride ended with camp fire. Dinner at hotel in Kraków.

 

Day 4. Kraków – Sromowce – Zakopane (150 km)

 

Departure for Zakopane. Stop at Debno and visit the XVth century church, admire the unique interior with the brilliant polychromy and wooden carving . Continue to Sromowce Nizne for the 10 km long raft trip on Dunajec river. First lunch and then….the smoothly going wooden rafts led by highlanders, give you a chance to admire the scenic surroundings of Pieniny Mountains with limestone rocks and forests. Arrival in Zakopane in the late afternoon. Check in at hotel and sightseeing tour of the town, including its typical wooden architecture. Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 5. Zakopane

 

After breakfast, visit the Tatra museum and then visit the Arts High School. The students will present the different techniques of folk handicraft, such as painting on glass or sculpturing in wood. Lunch at regional restaurant with regional dishes. Free time. In the evening picnic by camp fire with an entertainment of highlanders’ folklore ensemble. Dance, music and tasting traditional highlanders’ specialities.

 

Day 6. Zakopane – Chochołow – Besenova (180 km)

 

Deaprture for Slovakia. En route visit the charming, small village Chocholow, a natural open-air ethnographical museum with a unique wooden architecture. Crossing the border with Slovakia. Drive through the picturesque mountain landscape to the “Orava Village Skansen” a spacious open-air ethnographical museum hidden deep in the forest. Lunch and visit the Skansen. You can see a village with cottages, church, cemetery and fire-tour. Some of the buildings are genuine, some have been reconstructed. Arrival in Besenova, a famous SPA resort with large thermal bath facilities in the region of Liptowska Mara (the Liptow Sea). Check in at hotel and dinner with the slovak specialities.

 

Day 7. Besenova – Spania Dolina – Vlkolinec – Besenova (140 km)

 

On this day we visit two charming and famous villages. First Spania Dolina, in the past famous for copper mining, now this quiet small settlement (120 inhabitants) is known for traditional bobbin lace-works. Walk through the village and presentation of the lace making. Then short drive and visit Vlkolinec, a picturesque village located on the mountain with splendid panorama on the valley. The village is inhabited by 20 (!) people – two kids included. Among the buildings you can find real architectural jewels, such as the wooden bell tower, or a historic small church. The nearby stream is still the only source of drinking water for inhabitants. The village is placed on the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List. Lunch with Slovak folklore entertainment. Back in Besenova and time for leisure and hot water healing treatments. Dinner at hotel.

 

Day 8. Besenova – Oravski Podzamok – Kraków (190 km)

 

Departure for Krakow. Stop at Oravski Podzamok and see a mysterious castle situated on a high cliff, which featured once for the Herzog’s film “Nosferatu Vampire”. Guided visit of the castle. Lunch en route. Return to Kraków in the afternoon. Time for shopping. Farewell dinner.

Day 3 : Warsaw – Kazimierz Dolny (150 km)

Drive to Kazimierz Dolny. Picturesquely located on the hills and the bank of Vistula river, Kazimierz is a major tourist venue in Poland. You can admire the market square, with the wealthy grain merchants’ houses and a wooden well in the very centre.

 

Day 4:  Kazimierz  – Lublin –  Zamość  (140 km)

Drive to Lublin. Tour of the Old Town. Afterwards, stop at Majdanek, a former concentration camp where thousands of people were killed by Nazis during the war. Arrival in Zamość and sightseeing of the town. Zamość is regarded as a perfect example of Renaissance architecture.

 

Day 5 : Zamość – Łańcut – Kraków  (320 km)

Departure for Krakow. En route visit  the famous  palace in Łańcut,  belonging to the world’s largest castle palace complexes. Guided tour through the palace rooms with art collections and the Carriage Museum.

 

Day 6:  Kraków

Sightseeing tour of the Old Town including The Royal Way with its monuments. Visit the St Mary’s church with the majestic, wooden altar carved by Veit Stoss , and the Medieval cloth halls in the heart of the main square.
